What a Difference 6 Months Makes!

So I have been thinking a lot about moving lately. Maybe I shouldn't because if I think about it too hard it really might make me cry! Anyway Eryn and I will soon be living on two different coasts, her the Pacific and me the Atlantic. And I just wanted to give her a shout out and tell her, I am totally stoked for you to be going back "home"! I can't imagine Win and Aus not going to the same high school. Heaven knows she is going to need someone to keep an eye on her! But I guess we will see what the future holds! I love you Howeys!!

It's Not Me... It's Logan!

So what are the chances that my car breaks down twice in two weeks? Well this time I think it is pretty serious. Win and I were driving home from Brigham City last night (we went down for Crew's birthday, Happy Birthday Crew!) and as soon as we got past Mantua my car just died! RPMs just went down and it just stopped and killed. Luckily Win had fallen asleep so it was not as bad as it could have been, waiting for a half an hour for Kev to come get us!
All I know is this. I have only ever had car problems or been left stranded on my way back to Logan... So what does that say? It is not me.... It has to be Logan!
I guess we will have to get a nice and reliable car when we are living in DC because there will be no mom and dad living 5 minutes away to come rescue us!!!

Monday

Continuing Mother Series

So I lately I have been photographing mothers and their kids. Just something I got in my head that would be a fun series to do. And it really has been! It is so fun to spend an hour or so with a mom and her child and just take pictures of them interacting. It is so funny to see the things they do and see their personalities come out on film. So I thought I would charge a special rate so lots of people can have these fun pictures on themselves and their kidos!

Wednesday

Girls, girls and more girls!

My friend Chelsea came over the other day and we took some pictures! Super cute!
Oh did I mention she has TWINS! They are so funny and so cute and identical I can never tell them apart! They are just a few months older than Win. So after pictures they came over and played. It was fun for her to see "double trouble" and share all her toys with them!

Sunday

Ready To Go Mom!

So the other morning Winnie decided she was going to get ready to go on her own. She grabbed her own shoes, brought them over to me, mismatched of course. Then went in her room and grabbed her purse and her bear. Lately everytime we leave the house she has to grab at least two things, one in each hand and then head out the door! In this case it was her bear and her purse, usually it is her little people animals or a doll and a book! I never knew a girl to be so girlie at such a young age! Lucky Kevy! Surrounded by pink on all sides! ( side note, the bathrobe was my doing. She had just gotten out of the tubbers!)

Thursday

The Hills Are Alive!... But my car is dead!

Well it is no secret I love Autumn! It is my favorite time of year. So the other day I decided I would go out and photograph a little of it.
Well what happens when Jill decides to do landscape photography? My car breaks down! Sure enough! I don't know what magic touch I have with cars but I really do break down a lot. Sure some people would blame on the fact that I haven't driven a car newer than 96, since 1996 but no, it really is me! Luckily I have a wonderful husband and father who both came out to rescue us!
Oh and we also found out why those black and orange bugs are called Box Elder Bugs, Win and I were attacked by about one hundred of them! I guess I will be cleaning those out of my car for weeks to come!
But hey, aren't the leaves pretty?!

Let the Healing Begin!

We got the xray of Win's fractured clavicle from the Orthopedic Surgeon we went to this week. Not the most fun Dr. visit we have ever had. Two hours in a tiny room with a one year old, just to find out not much healing is going on! It was a bummer. I got myself already to hear that she was healed and instead we heard she has to wear the brace for atleast one more month! Oh what a trooper she is! She really has been wonderful I think it hurts me more than it does her!

Monday

Q...D...T...

Just what every little girl needs.... a little quality dad time! Win loves to get down Kev's xbox controllers and go to town. She is getting pretty good too! But just so you know this is a rarity in our house. Kev has been so busy with school and work this semester he barely has time to breath let alone play videos games! But we see the light at the end of the tunnel, he signed both offers this weekend. Deloitte in London in May, and Price Waterhouse Cooper in DC in September! We are so excited and can't wait to get started..... So then Kev can work 80 hour weeks instead of 40....wait..?

WHAT WAS I DOING TEN YEARS AGO?

Lets see ten years ago I was 14 so I was in Jr. High at Churchill and lets face it probably boy crazy! Oh but 14 is when you can hang out in boy girl groups! yeah we did a lot of that! My Jr. High was super fun though, we had volleyball games and basketball games and cheerleaders. It was a fun time, most people look back at high school with fond memories... as for me, I am more nostalgic about jr. high days....

WHAT WAS I DOING FIVE YEARS AGO?

Oh boy Freshman at Utah State University. Where I think I spent most of my time at my sisters house in Mountain Green! I had a huge falling out with my bff from high school who also happened to be my roommate at the time! I was so homesick. My whole family brought me up to school to get me settled in my dorm room and I just cried that whole night and then went home the next day!.... I was so brave!

WHAT WAS I DOING ONE YEAR AGO?

Well lets see... One year ago I had this brand new baby girl who cried so much and so loudly I really didn't know what to do! I was so post partum I couldn't carry on a single conversation with out crying....And actually it was almost this week one year ago when Kev had to pack Win up and rush me to the ER because I couldn't breathe and my chest hurt so bad I was on the floor crying my eyes out! Got to the hospital where they admitted me and we had to wait four days until I had my gallbladder out!!! Good times!

WHAT WAS I DOING YESTERDAY?

Watching the Muppets, visiting teaching, nap time... Friends, laundry, walk, KPMG reception! All in all it was actually a pretty fun day!

FIVE PLACES I WOULD RATHER BE?

Nowhere really. Today is a cold rainy Autumn day and I LOVE IT!
But I guess I could say... DC, NYC, Vegas, Seattle, LONDON

FIVE TREATS I LOVE?

Carmel apples, Eryn's sheet cake, brownies and better than sex cake (even if the name isn't true!) and Jen's cheese cake!

WHAT I WOULD DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS?

Totally honest? I could say all the responsible things.... give to charity, save, invest... But really I would shop until my hearts content... and who knows when that would be! Oh and of course own a home and new car. But realistically, a million dollars would really only be enough to buy a house in DC.... So I guess I would need abou two!

FIVE FAVORITE TV SHOWS?

Americas Next Top Model, My Name is Earl, The Office, So You Think You Can Dance.....and 24! Oh wait I forgot my most favorite tv show is Brothers and Sisters!... Sorry I sound like a tv head!

MY MOST MEMORABLE THINGS RIGHT NOW?

Totally cheesy.... but every day watching Win grow up and learn new things! She loves to roll over, twirl and pick out stories to read! She is such a crack up!

FIVE PEOPLE I AM TAGGING.....

ERYN, CATHERINE, JORDAN, CHELSEA AND BEATTA

Wednesday

Late but Worth the Wait..

A couple of weeks ago I took off for a girls weekend with my sister Eryn. I packed up and left Kev a list on the fridge gave Win a kiss and off I went! It was really fun.. Well if you like talking about dentists and learning Kenneth Cope songs! No really it was fun and the best part was I didn't have to worry about Win at all I knew she was having a blast with her dad! So I got to hang out with my sister, shop, eat out and see the last 45 minutes of Becoming Jane..... (which I really hope to see the begining of soon!)

Some random pics of Boise

The New Look For Fall!

The figure 8 sling! She is actually doing great! We go to the Doc again on Monday and will hopefully hear all is well! Thanks for all the concern...! I promise I am a good mom and don't neglect my babe! I just wasn't fast enough to catch her.. I guess I need to work on my reflexes!
But doesn't she look good anyway! Kev couldn't get over the diaper and sock look! We are really quite fashion forward at the Thueson house!

Sunday

I Broke My Baby!

It is official Win has a broken collar bone. We took her in to the ER today and they did x-rays on her and sure enough her clavicle was broken right in half! It is so sad but she was so brave! She fell off the bathroom counter yesterday morning while we were getting ready for the day. (This is our daily routine, she sits up on the counter and brushes her teeth or plays with my makeup while I get ready.) Well yesterday was the day she came crashing down right on her shoulder. Anyway we debated all day about weather to take her in to the doctor and when she woke up this morning it was all swollen and bruised so we decided we better get it checked out. So now my very girly little girl has to wear a sling that looks like shoulder pads! But don't worry she works it!
Pictures to follow....
Oh we did ask if we could get a copy of the x-rays but we will have to go through medical records to get a burned cd of them.

Wednesday

My Latest Project

It has been too long since I took on a photo project. So I decided to do a series on mothers. I mean, what could be closer to my heart than being a mom? But instead of always focusing on the child I wanted to focus on the mother. I think as moms we lose some of our individuality, I mean I take nothing but pictures of my daughter all day long, which I love. But then I think "Did I go through four years of school and all that technical training to sit around and shoot candids of my kid all day....? Well anyway here are just three of the photographs I took of my dear friend Stacy, mother and also photographer. They turned out lovely I thought. And I wanted to share them. To me they are a little inspiration that being a mother really is a beautiful thing!

For You Eryn... "The Witch of Blackbird Pond"

IT IS A BOOK! Since I am not part of a book club, my sisters have been giving me their leftovers and my sister Eryn has gone on and on about that river book so here is my turn... Jen gave this book to me "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" by Elizabeth George Speare. I just got finished reading it and Jen was right it is an awesome book. It got me all ready for the fall and for Halloween and the leaves to change. I can't say why exactly but fall is my favorite time of year and Halloween might even beat out Christmas in my book.... Sorry I just love it!

A Day In The Life of A Princess

We walk all day...

Then we go for stroller rides in our awesome new stroller and talk on the phone of course! We have been walking so much lately, I was walking out of Borders and this lady yelled at me from the parking lot.."you have been walking everywhere, I see you like everyday!" It was really funny and kind of embarassing! But we love the stroller and we love the fall weather!!!

Guess who's walking?

Jowin started walking over this past week and once she started she just hasn't stopped. She's a little too fearless for her own good, but she loves the added freedom of being mobile.

Friday

The Party... The Guests... The Drama!

So we celebrated Winnies Birthday in style. We had a really fun party at the park. I of course obsessed over it for a few weeks. I made the cake, the sign, and took extra time picking out the wrapping paper and wrapping the gifts just as pretty as I could. And... Well... Win didn't actually open a single gift, would have nothing to do with her cake and would not keep her hat on for the life of me... Go figure..

But Kev, Ethan and Logan ended up having a food fight with Win's cake... And she hasn't stopped playing with her little people since! So all and all I would say it was a hit!! She was so exhausted after all was said and done she fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn't even wake up when I changed her and put on her pjs! Happy birthday girl!

By the end she was out of there! She had had enough, so Jen and Ethan were nice enough to take her and swing. I think she loved that as much as she liked the party!!

Thanks so much to everyone for coming! I know it wasn't the most convenient of days, Wednesday after all but I was so glad everyone came!! Thanks!

My Baby Is One!

And Now!!... 20 pounds, 30 inches... And Full of Personality

Happy Birthday Winnie! One Year Old!! And So Proud!

London Baby!

Hey I forgot to mention....
We are moving to London in May of 08! So excited! Kev got an internship with Deloitte in tax. So if anyone has plans to visit Europe next summer look us up!

Home... Jet Lagged.... and Missin It!

Well we made it home! And boy has it been hard on all of us! Winnie has not slept since we have been home and neither has Kevin! So needless to say it has been a fun week!
Here are some of the 600 pictures I took! We had a major blast! Thank you Craig and Marj for the wonderful time! Win loved the beach so much and we were so happy to see grandma and grandpa! I posted pictures of Samoa this time, for you Jen. So you don't have to call our vacation Winnie in Samoa!!

Family pic on the beach in Savaii, just one because it was too cute to pass up!

And well just a few of her because come on she is a crack up! Oh did I mention it was a nudey beach? Well for Jowin it was anyway!!

Island of Savaii! We stayed right on the beach it was amazing! Win loved the water, she couldn't get enough, she would crawl out deeper and deeper in the water and would get so mad when Kev would pick her up. Guess she doesn't get the concept of drowning yet!

Samoan boats, can't spell it. Sorry!

Downtown Apia from the sea wall, this is the biggest city in Western Samoa and home to Craig and Marj for the next 9 more months.

Fire dancers... It was raining so they wouldn't let the four year old perform! It was so cool to watch!

Beautiful waterfall.... Can't remember the name and couldn't spell it if I could. Kev kept saying he felt like he was in Jarassic Park because it was so lush and beautiful!!

And last but not least all of us in front of Craig and Marj's place! Okay not really, all of us in front of the Robert Lewis Stevenson home, now museum. He is buried on the hill next to it. Gotta love Samoa!

Saturday

Samoa!

We finally made it! We are in Samoa visiting Kevin's parents who are on a mission! We set it all up with his dad to suprize his mom and we sure did! We came walking out of the airport and she looked at us like wait a second and then burst in to tears and came and gave us hugs! It was great!
It is great here! Except I have been sick, seen mostly my bedroom, the bathroom and the side of the road where I threw up on the way to the beach!
But feeling better today and Win is doing great! Nothing can stop that girl! Here are some pic of the beach yesterday it was tons of fun Win loved the water and the sand! She would crawl out to the waves and splash in them she loved it!
We will be here for two weeks! Get home just in time to celebrate Jowin's One Year Birthday!!

Winnies first boating trip!

We had such a fun time, if you are wondering why Win is not in a life jacket or a swim suit or the water.... Simple she did nothing but freak out with the life jacket on, scream when I put her in the water and cried about being wet and messy... So she spent the whole time in her tank and diaper and was much more pleasant!! She actually had a pretty good time!

When Cousins Come to Town!

Well we like to party! Go to the Buzz game, ride a train with uncle Jeffy, drink diet coke, watch Tucker race to second base and win! Oh eat rocks and last but not least, fight with Austin!
Eryn left her youngest boy with us for a night and boy was in fun! Two babies six months apart are not easy to handle especially when they fight like cats and dogs. Neither of them can actually talk but I sure did hear a lot of screaming and biting and hair pulling.... It was a regualr party!! I guess they will learn to love each other!

DC HERE WE COME... OR IS IT LONDON?

We got some very exciting news this week... Kev got an offer to go work full time for Price WaterHouse Cooper in Tysons, Virginia! We are so excited aobut it! he went and interviewed a couple of weeks ago and he said he really loved it out there. So look out East coast here we come!..... Except for the offer from Deloitte in London to intern next summer. We are on the fence, I would love to live in London even if just for a few months and travel around Europe. But i would love to live back East too... Tough choice, what is a family to do?? Seriously though.. any suggestions?
